FAIRBURY – A Jefferson County man who served his country in the U.S. Army was honored this week by the Jefferson County Commissioners as part of an ongoing recognition effort.
The Jefferson County commissioners honored Loren Yost as the Jefferson County Veteran of the Month. Yost was drafted into the US Army in 1951 during the Korean War Conflict. After his honorable discharge, Yost returned to the family farm where he farmed with his father for over 40 years. Yost makes his home in Plymouth and has served on several boards and committees and has been a member of the American Legion for over 67 years.
Jefferson County officials have started to honor veterans of the armed services on the first Tuesday of every month.
