Weather forecasters say southeast Nebraska could be in for an icy weather event later this weekend. But, that depends on what track the wintry weather takes.
Thursday morning, northern and northeast Kansas, as well as much of northwest Missouri, was included in a winter storm watch from noon Friday until 9 p.m. Sunday. But, the watch does not include southeast and south central Nebraska, as of Thursday morning.
Forecasters say temperatures hovering around the freezing mark will bring the potential for a mix of rain, freezing rain and snow during the latter part of the weekend. In some areas, freezing rain could cause travel problems and power outages.
