DUI suspect arrested after allegedly dancing on car & trying to flee on scooter

A woman was arrested for suspected DUI after dancing on top of her car and trying to get away from officers on a kid’s scooter, a news release from the Sparks Police Department said.

Sabra Bewley, 27, was arrested for second drug-related DUI, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking MDMA, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell and destruction of property.

On Saturday at around 5:52 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to a wrong way driver traveling southbound on Pyramid Highway in the northbound lanes, the release said. A Sparks officer who was responding to another call noticed several cars pulled over near Disc Drive and a white Jeep Cherokee SUV on a hill next to the highway.

Witnesses told the officer the driver – later identified as Bewley – was the only person in the car “as it was driving in the wrong lanes and then drove off the highway up the hill,” the release said.

Bewley was allegedly “acting very erratically and ‘dancing’ on the top of the car and then began to try to leave the area on a child’s scooter.”

According to police, Bewley was allegedly “uncooperative with officers attempts to detain her and physically resisted officers.” Bewley was taken to a local hospital before being booked into the Washoe County jail.
