Nebraska’s senior US senator will soon be announcing her campaign for re-election.
Sen. Deb Fischer is planning to announce her re-election bid in three separate stops across the state on June 24th.
Fischer will first stop out west in Gering at 11 a.m. She will then announce in Kearney at 3 p.m. before making her final stop in Lincoln at 5:30 in the evening.
No other candidate has announced a bid in the Senate race.
Fischer, a republican, was elected in 2012 to replace former Sen. Ben Nelson. She survived a tough GOP primary and eventually defeated former Gov. Bob Kerrey by over 15 points in the general election.
Fischer is from the Valentine-area and spent eight years in the Nebraska Legislature before heading to Washington.
