LINCOLN, Neb. – Packages lined Interstate 80 Monday morning after a FedEx truck crashed on the side of the road due to icy conditions.
The crash occurred between Lexington and Ogallala.
The Nebraska State Patrol Tweeted out the pictures of the truck, as well as numerous other semi accidents that had slid into the ditch, warning drivers of the icy conditions.
“Hazardous road conditions in a big chunk of the state this morning due to icy road surface. Multiple semis in the median and ditches along I-80,” NSP said in a Facebook post.
NSP said the main accident, which caused I-80 closures, was between two semis, both traveling east bound.
One truck lost control on the ice, slowed down, and was struck from behind by another semi.
Both truck were severely damaged, NSP said, and there were no serious injuries.
