LINCOLN – Saturday is a chance for folks to grab their reels and head out to the water without the worry of paying for a fishing license or even paying a park admission.
The Nebraska Games and Parks is welcoming all to come out on Saturday for ‘Free Fishing and Park Entry Day in Nebraska.’
The occasion is held annually the weekend before Memorial Day weekend.
Anybody has the chance to enter a Nebraska state park, state recreation area or state historical park, free of charge. Anglers do not need a permit on the day, but are still required to follow fishing regulations.
The forecast looks a bit gloomy for Saturday, with highs in the high 40’s and low to mid 50’s for most of the state. Rain is possible and in some places probable throughout the day.
