A 13-year-old boy on a bicycle was struck from behind by a vehicle over the weekend in Lincoln.
The incident occurred near 28th and Vine at 7 p.m. on Saturday when a 2004 White Cadillac hit the boy, sending him airborne.
Witnesses followed the vehicle into a parking lot nearby, where the driver examined the situation, and fled the scene.
However, witnesses recorded the license plate number of Bao Nguyen, 36, who was suspected to be driving the vehicle.
Before police could track Nguyen down, he called authorities and turned himself in. He was detained and charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident, a felony.
The 13-year-old was taken to the hospital with several abrasions, but non-life threatening injuries.
