Man assaulted with knife while walking on Lincoln bike trail

LINCOLN, Neb. – Lincoln Police are investigating after a man was attacked with a knife while walking on a trail in Lincoln.

Police said a 63-year-old man was walking along a bike trail near I-180 between 9th and 10th Street Monday morning around 9:15 a.m when two individuals approached.

According to authorities, one of the men pulled a knife, swung at the victim, and struck him. The victim suffered minor injuries to his arm.

During the struggle, the victim was able to kick one of the men, causing the suspects to flee the scene.

The victim was treated for superficial injuries, and no description was made available.

The victim told police the suspects were trying to rob him, but did not get away with any of his possessions.
