Lincoln pedestrian hit, killed while crossing 48th Street

A 60-year-old Lincoln man was killed late Monday after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street.

Lincoln police said Edward Poltack died after being struck by a Jeep Patriot around 11:15 p.m. near 48th and Holdrege Streets in northeast Lincoln.

Police said Poltack was crossing 48th Street east to west between Starr and Dudley Streets. The Jeep was southbound on 48th Street.

Police said the driver of the Jeep was interviewed and the investigation into the pedestrian death was continuing.
