Former Nebraska man, 27, killed in crash near Scottsbluff

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — A 27-year-old former Gering, Nebraska, man died in a crash in Henry on Saturday night.

The Nebraska State Patrol said Kelsey Komarek of Denver died in the crash at Highway 26 and Nichols Avenue after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a building about 10 p.m.

The building is on the northeast corner of Nichols Avenue and apparently isn’t in use because gas service is shut off.

Komarek, who died at the scene, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck.

The Morrill Fire Department went to the scene, and the Scotts Bluff County Attorney’s Office and State Patrol were involved in the crash investigation.

Henry is about 24 miles west of Scottsbluff.
