Defending State Champion Wilber Still Without a Loss in Area Tournament

SUTTON – Wilber is right back where they were last year in the C5 Area Tournament. The Juniors are in the championship regardless of the outcome tonight.

After a victory over Sutton on Sunday, Wilber has automatically made the championship game on Tuesday.

The first game scheduled for this evening is BDS against Sutton at 5 p.m. Following that matchup, Wilber will play Wood River at 8 p.m.

If Wilber wins, they will play the Sutton/BDS winner for the championship. Sutton or BDS would have to defeat Wilber twice to win the area.

If Wilber loses, then Wood River will play the Sutton/BDS winner, only to see Wilber again for a winner take all final game.

The winner of the C5 area heads to the State Tournament in St. Paul.
