The Council Bluffs woman who was wounded in the mass shooting at the Fort Lauderdale airport is in good condition at a Florida hospital, officials said Monday.
Kari Oehme and her husband, Michael Oehme, were on their way to a Caribbean cruise Friday when a gunman opened fire at the airport.
Both were hit.
Michael, 57, was fatally shot in the head, said Mark Lea, who witnessed the shooting and helped Kari.
A family spokesperson declined to comment and said services for Michael have not been scheduled.
Esteban Santiago first appeared in federal court Monday, accused of fatally shooting five people and wounding six at the airport baggage claim Friday afternoon. He is being held without bail.
