Virginia Ruth (Iverson) Sadil was born in Daykin, Nebraska on Sept. 6, 1926 to Chester Olin and Addie Marie (Wagoner) Iverson. She was the middle child of three born to them. Her family later moved to Fairbury where she graduated from High School in 1944. After graduating she worked in the offices of the Farmers Union Creamery. She met Lawrence (Larry) Sadil at the local roller skating rink and they married on Sept 12, 1947. They made their home in Fairbury until moving to Denver CO in 1956. Virginia worked for the U.S. Government, Bureau of Land Management, until retirement. They lived in Littleton, where they built a home. They loved to travel and took many trips, here and abroad. They had no children. Due to their failing health, they decided it was time to move to Assisted Living in January, 2016. Larry died in June, and in January, 2017 she moved to Fairbury into Gardenside Long Term Care Facility to be closer to family. Virginia died April 14th, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Blaine and wife Gertrude, husband Lawrence and brother-in-law, John Snyder. Surviving are sister, Marilyn Snyder, nephews Steve (Patty) and Andy (Toni) Snyder, niece Sally (Steve) Ewalt and eight great nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday April 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home, with Pastor Victor Peterson officiating. Cremation with burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO will be at a later date. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
