She was a skilled seamstress and made many quilts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as gardening, canning and cooking. She valued her German heritage and was famous for baking zwieback. Relatives and friends were treated to this along with hot tea whenever they stopped by. The grandchildren really loved those pancakes, donuts and mac and cheese she made for them. She was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church of Pickrell. She sang in the choir and was active with the women of the church and loved quilting with the ladies group. She was a long-time member of the Thrifty Workers Extension Club. Her greatest joys were socializing with friends while playing cards and dancing with Henry. She especially loved being with the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
