Roger D. Rahe, 76 years of age, of DeWitt passed away at the Wilber Care Center Thursday morning, August 10, 2017. He was born on June 24, 1941 in Beatrice to Arnold and Lena (Jordening) Rahe and had been baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Harbine. He was a 1959 graduate of Plymouth High School. Roger and Karen Ebke were married on June 13, 1959. They farmed near Harbine, NE before moving to a farm near DeWitt in 1967. He was a dedicated member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in DeWitt and had been an usher and on the church council. He had been a Gold Star Asgrow Seed Dealer, loved Husker football, was proud of his restored 1931 John Deere GP tractor, and collected John Deere items, but Roger most especially enjoyed attending his kids and grandkids activities.
Survivors include his wife Karen; sons Jeff Rahe and Mike (Karen) Rahe; daughters Darcy (Jeff) Zimmerman and Sonja (Scott) Workman, all of DeWitt; 14 grandchildren Katie (Steven) Carel, Carson Rahe, Carly Rahe and fiancé Hunter Oliver, Jamie (Derek) Hansher, Jessica (Syd) Shepler, Jason Zimmerman and special friend Taylor Schultze, Celena Chavez, Mallory Chavez, Amy (John) Schroeder, Sarah (Jason) Geerdes, Kayla (Josh) McDougal, Nikki (Jared) Stoner, Jordan Workman, and Samantha Workman; 10 Great Grandchildren Owen, Jemma, Jordan, Dean, Henry, Sullivan, Kody, Kole, Mya, and Owen, and 2 on the way; sister Arly (Dale) Lange of Lincoln; brother Darold (Gwen) Rahe of Beatrice; sister in law Jan Germer; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Lena (Jordening) Rahe; mother and father in law Emil and Elsie (Meyer) Ebke; brother James Rahe; sister Diane Plouzek; 2 infant siblings; and brother in law Gordon Germer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Sean Koos officiating. Burial, Oak Grove Cemetery. The body will lie in state 11-8:00 Sunday at the Venrick-Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in DeWitt with the family greeting friends from 3-5:00, and at the church one hour preceding the service on Monday.
