Lori A. Geistlinger, 55 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at the Monarch House in Lincoln Monday morning, May 21, 2018. She was born on October 30, 1962 in Ainsworth, NE to Lawrence and Georgia (Atkinson) Peterson and was raised on a ranch in Rock County, south of Newport, NE. Lori was a 1980 graduate of Rock County High School and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska. Lori and Trent Geistlinger were married on May 14, 2005. They lived at Hallam, NE until moving to Beatrice in 2016. She was employed as an information technology applications analyst working for the Administrative Office of Probation under the Supreme Court of the State of Nebraska. Lori attended the Countryside Alliance Church in Princeton, and was a member of the Red Wing Collectors Society. She was an avid antique pottery collector and Rolling Stones fan; loved her flower garden, and was an amateur chef.

Survivors include her husband Trent; sons Lee Weidner and wife Crystal of DeWitt, and Lawrence Weidner and wife Katie of Lincoln; 3 grandchildren Mary, L.J. “Jack”, and KaeLynn; sisters Pam Peterson and Sheila Peterson, both of Bassett, NE; and uncle and aunt DuWayne and Ann Thompson of Lincoln. Lori was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Countryside Alliance Church in Princeton with Reverend Nate Reckling and Reverend Dirk Reek officiating. Interment will be at 1:00PM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Newport Cemetery, Newport, NE. Closed casket visitation on Thursday from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends from 4:30-6:00 PM. A family prayer service will be held at 1:45 PM Friday at the church. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice with the funeral home in charge.
