Lois Irene Adams, age 79 of Beatrice, formerly of Wymore, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 2, 2018 at Beatrice Good Samaritan Society. She was born in Auburn, Nebraska on September 27, 1939 to Neal and Alma (Dovel) Banks. She worked as an operator and service representative for the Lincoln Telephone Company, and after her retirement, she worked in the Gage County Clerk’s Office, and Wymore State Bank, and helped at Adams Bottles & Bows. Lois enjoyed cooking and baking for family gatherings, collecting thimbles and owls, reading – especially all of Danielle Steel’s novels, and taking care of her dogs. But above all, Lois loved her family and attending any activities that her kids and grandkids were involved in.
Left to mourn her passing are her children, Max Adams and wife Janet of Norfolk, JoAnn Arington and husband Bill of Humboldt, Rex Adams and wife Jodi of Blue Springs, Dustin Adams and wife Jonna of Wymore; daughter-in-law, Jenny Adams of Blue Springs; grandchildren, Wyatt (Kelli) Adams, Elizabeth (Daniel) Griffith, Cami (Barry) Erb, Dani (Jarrod) Snyder, Frosty (Tara) Adams, Cody (Stacie) Brown, Hunter and Dakota Adams, and Drake, Brock, Paxx, and Maverick Adams; great grandchildren, Kaode, Kenadi, Jack, Brooklyn, Justice, Kallen, Karley, Chance, Sawyer, Kai, Holden, Ryker, Walker, Kashton, and Zane; sister, Janet Keen; sister-in-law, Doris Adams; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dean Banks; and son, Jay Adams.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with Jon Palmquist officiating. Interment of ashes will be at a later date. Visitation will take place from 9:30 AM to the time of the service Saturday with the family greeting relatives and friends at that time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a charitable donation toward the community’s youth to be made in Lois’s memory at a later date with the funeral home in charge.
