Linda Lou Lueders, 72, of Cortland died in Omaha on Saturday, September 9, 2017. She was born January 24, 1945 in Beatrice to Ed and Carolyn Papke Lueders. She lived her entire life in Cortland and graduated from Cortland High School. She attended Lincoln School of Commerce and worked at Cen-Tel for many years. She then worked for Dietze Music Store in Lincoln until her retirement. She loved doing crafts especially counted cross stitch pictures, and made one for all her family and friends and won several purple ribbons at the Gage County Fair and the State Fair in Lincoln. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cortland and had been a member of the church choir. She lived with her parents and took care of her mother after her father died. She loved seeing all her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She enjoyed helping with the Cortland Booster Club and the Cortland Improvement Association.
Survivors include her sister, Maxine Pfeiffer of Cortland; special friend Gary Windle of Lincoln; two brothers-in-law, Cal Graham of Oregon and Tom Wicken of Cortland; two sisters-in-law, Evie Lueders of Gretna and Phyllis Lueders of Cortland; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Carolyn Papke Lueders; two sisters, Doris Graham and RoJane Wicken; four brothers, Don, Milan, Lamar and Roger Lueders.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of rural Clatonia with Pastor Steven Kahrs officiating. Burial will be in the St. John’s Evangelical Cemetery of rural Cortland. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice with the church elders in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.
