Kenneth J. Barnhill, age 82 of Barneston passed away on May 11, 2018 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. He was born in Mullen, Nebraska on November 3, 1935 to Lloyd Kenneth and Ethel May (James) Barnhill. He was a 1953 graduate of Barneston High School. Kenneth served his country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. On April 7, 1956 he was united in marriage to JoAnn Graham. Kenneth was a member of Blue Birds Across Nebraska and was a supervisor for over 30 years for the Dairy Herd Improvement Association. He was a manufacturer for Premier Batons and enjoyed woodworking and bird watching.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, JoAnn Barnhill of Barneston; children, Diane Yousefi of Coral Springs, FL, Lori Barnhill Viken of Omaha, Father Robert Barnhill of Beatrice, Michael Barnhill of Denver, CO, Paul Barnhill and special friend Lori Schaefer of Beatrice, Dennis Barnhill and wife Barb of Lincoln, Darryl Barnhill and special friend Kristie Johnston of Stockton, KS, David Barnhill of Barneston, and Chad Barnhill and wife Amy of Norfolk; foreign exchange student, Marcio Castilho of Brazil; 13 grandchildren; brother, Gale Barnhill and wife Karen of McCool Junction; brother-in-law, Jack Volesky and wife Margie of Oketo, KS; several nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Reza Yousefi, and sister, Shirley Volesky.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beatrice with Father Robert Barnhill officiating. Inurnment will be at the Barneston Cemetery with military honors being rendered by the United States Army. A family prayer service will begin at 10:15 AM. Visitation will be take place on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with the family greeting relatives and friends from 5-6:30 PM. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM with the Rosary following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kenneth Barnhill Memorial Fund with the funeral home in charge.
