Henry George Mallean, 77, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Los Angeles, California.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Hanover Cemetery.
Henry George Mallean was born on his family’s farm in Hollenberg, Kansas on December 27, 1939. Although, he was named after his father, Henry, most people knew him as George. George graduated from Hanover High School in 1957 and received a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in 1961. In 1962, George moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in the aerospace industry as an engineer. He later received a master degree from University of California Los Angeles. He had two children, Sean Henry Mallean and Tanya Marie Mallean. George had three beautiful granddaughters, Allana (13 years old), Juliette (11 years old) and Hadley (6 years old) who he adored and devoted most of his time to later in life. George loved nature and was a member of the Audubon Society. George was an avid reader, artist, poet and golfer. He had a brilliant mind and a gentle soul and touched everyone’s lives.
George was preceded in death by his father, Henry Gerd Mallean and Lucille Margaret Mallean.
Survivors include his son, Sean Henry Mallean; daughter, Tanya Marie Mallean; brother, William Robert Mallean; sister, Carol Marie Stout; and his three lovely granddaughters Allana, Juliette and Hadley.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in George’s honor with the Alzheimer’s Association.
