Harold L. Bledsaw, 91, of Beatrice died at Beatrice Good Samaritan on December 12, 2018. He was born March 3, 1927 at Beatrice and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1945. He married Kathryn Grell on June 29, 1949 at Marysville, KS. He worked for the Beatrice (Steinmeyer) Beverage Company as a deliveryman and then for Martz Distributing until retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Beatrice. He was also a 62-year member of the F.O.E. Aerie #531 of Beatrice. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending the great-grandchildren’s sporting activities, gardening, spending time with family and friends and watching old westerns on TV.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn of Beatrice; one son, Dennis Bledsaw and wife Vivian of Beatrice; one daughter, Melody Oden and husband Ted of Beatrice; four grandchildren, Eric Bledsaw and wife Anna, Lisa Oltmans and husband Dave, Natasha Oden and special friend, Eric Jobman, and Tyson Oden and wife Erin; seven great-grandchildren, Alexis, Kanon and Chip Oden, Payton, Kelsay and Brady Bledsaw, and Chloe and Liberty Oltmans; brother-in-law, Richard (Berlita) Grell; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Charles) Beyer, Marilyn (Richard) Nelson, and Janice (Keith) Will; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Gladys Essam Bledsaw; sister and brother-in-law, Lenora and Ray Sapp; brother, Ralph Bledsaw; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor (Wes) Steffens and Jackie Grell; brother-in-law, Marvin Blaser; one half-brother, Donald Bledsoe and one half-sister, Dorothy Helter.
Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Beatrice with Father Robert Barnhill officiating. Inurnment of the cremains will be at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery of Beatrice. A scriptural rosary service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 6:30 P.M. at Fox Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family meeting and greeting friends and relatives from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice.
