Edward Prebyl, 87, Oketo, died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 20 at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
Burial will be in Marysville City Cemetery.
Ed was born December 13, 1929 at Blue Springs, NE to James and Anna (Buresh) Prebyl. He attended Oketo schools and graduated from Barneston High School in 1948. Ed served in the Army in Korea, during the Korean Conflict, with the 40th division artillery. In May of 1958, he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Hofeling.
Ed farmed in the Oketo area all his life of the Prebyl family farm, which has been in the family for over 100 years. He worked for Marysville Livestock for many years and was a member of the Marysville American Legion for 62 years.
Ed enjoyed farming, gardening and every day life.
Ed is survived by his son, Dale (Susan) Prebyl, Oketo; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
A memorial fund is established to the Oketo Fire Department and contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
