David Edward Kujath was born October 1, 1960, the fourth child of John A. and Martha (Pieper) Kujath at Fairbury, NE. He died at Wilber Care Center on July 14, 2018. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Daykin, NE. David attended and graduated from Meridian High School in 1978. He worked at Peterson Manufacturing in DeWitt, NE after high school until the factory closed. David then became a propane delivery driver for Farmer’s Cooperative of Plymouth, NE. He always was a dedicated worker and did his job to best of his ability. He enjoyed raising sheep and helping young people learn about agriculture. David assisted many youth in their 4H careers and was part of the Saline County fair. He was member of the Swanton Fire Department and Village board. He helped out in many of Swanton’s activities. David is survived by his siblings: Cathy Lyons and husband, Jim, Jeffery and wife, Carol, Mark and wife, Judy and Susan Lawton and husband, Larry. As well as his nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great nephews and numerous cousins and their families and aunts, Christa Kujath, Bertha Kujath and Judith Pieper. He is also survived by Sharon Slama and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Kujath, brother, Jerry L. Kujath and brother-in-law, Jerald Wiegand. Memorials for David will be given to the Village of Swanton and Saline County Fair. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 18th, 2018 at 10:30 at St. John Lutheran Church in Daykin, NE. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 – 7 pm at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber, NE. Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber is in charge of arrangements.
