David C. Walker, 90, of Beatrice died Wednesday, October 17, 2018. He was born November 26, 1927 at Ottawa, KS and lived in Ottawa, Omaha, Superior and Hardy. He served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948. He married Betty Fischer on May 25, 1952 at Superior and they moved to Beatrice in 1970. He worked as a boiler operator at Cominco for many years. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice. He was also a member of the Geddes-Thober Post #1077 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Local #815 of the Chemical Workers where he had served as President. He enjoyed fixing and repairing things.
Survivor include two sons, Douglas Walker and Michael Walker both of Beatrice; one daughter, Peggy Neumann and husband Peter of Beatrice; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Walker of Silverdale, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester A. and Estella Kennedy Walker; his wife, Betty who died February 5, 2015; three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 10:30 A.M with Rev. Mark Schutt officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 P.M. and an hour preceding the services on Monday.
