Bruce Timothy Glanz, 63 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation in Beatrice. He was born on January 10, 1954 in Lincoln to George and Florence (Garn) Glanz. Bruce spent the first 12 years of his life in Lincoln before moving to California. He moved back to Norfolk and attended Norfolk High School before serving his country in the United States Army during Vietnam from October 3, 1971 to October 3, 1974. Bruce moved to Lincoln in 1976. He married Judith Kohlman on October 9, 1979 in Lincoln. Bruce worked for 8 years at Rahn’s Amoco on 70th and O in Lincoln for 8 years before opening his own business, “Bruce’s Auto Service” in Cortland. He retired in 2003 and they moved to Beatrice. Bruce enjoyed NASCAR, football and working on cars.
Bruce is survived by a son, Steve Glanz and wife Sydney of Fairbury; daughter, Amy Weber and husband Fred of Adams; grandsons, Cody Glanz, Khyler Harbeson; brother, Mike Glanz and wife Theresa of Wahoo; and a sister, Sherri Glanz of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Judith in 2016.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor Nathan Metzger officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Pleasantview Cemetery near Pickrell. There will be no visitation but a register book will be available to sign from 9 AM to 5 PM Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice.
