Arline M. Acton, age 95 of Beatrice passed away on September 19, 2017 at the Homestead House in Beatrice. She was born in rural Barneston on July 17, 1922 to Julius and Mary (Hellmer) Stroemer. She was a graduate of Barneston High School. On May 24, 1944, Arline married Allen Acton in Marysville, Kansas. The two farmed near Liberty before moving to Beatrice in 1999. Arline was a huge Husker football fan and enjoyed her time with the Prairie Queen Ladies Club. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking. She will be remembered for her delicious desserts and pies.
Arline is survived by her twin sister, Norline Cornett; niece; Jeanne Elsasser; nephews, Robert Cornett and Gary Cornett; several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen (2009); an infant daughter; parents, Julius and Mary Stroemer; sisters, Opal Tucker, Geneva Hanners, and Nedra Hahn; and brother, DeLoss Stroemer.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with Jon Palmquist officiating. Burial of ashes will be at the Liberty Cemetery. There will be no viewing, but a register book will be available for signatures on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
