SUTTON – The Wilber Junior Legion baseball team will not be defending their state championship this year.
Sutton was able to rally in the first game on Tuesday. They scored a run in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to top Wilber, 4-3. Wilber scored all three runs in the first inning.
In the second and final contest, Sutton’s offense erupted for 15 runs, including a big seven run second inning. They are headed to St. Paul after beating Wilber, 15-5.
Sutton will play Arlington at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Class C State Tournament.
