Arkansas Regional

Friday

Arkansas 11, Central Connecticut State 5: Arkansas scored three times in the fifth and sixth innings to pull away. Trevor Ezell had three hits and three RBIs to lead the Razorbacks.

TCU 13, CAL 2: TCU used a six-run sixth inning to open a 9-1 lead. Johnny Rizer, who had three hits, capped the sixth with a two-run home run. Hunter Wolfe added two doubles, a homer and four RBIs for the Horned Frogs.

Arkansas vs. TCU, 6 p.m. Sunday: Game 5: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 loser, 2 p.m. Game 6: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 8 p.m.

Georgia Regional

Friday

FLORIDA STATE 13, FAU 7: Omaha Creighton Prep graduate Bobby Morgensen hit two homers and drove in four runs for FAU, but the Seminoles used a 20-hit attack to prevail. Drew Mendoza hit two homers and drove in four for FSU.

GEORGIA 13, MERCER 3: The Bulldogs scored eight times in the bottom of the first and were in command the rest of the way. Aaron Schunk hit a two-run homer in the first and added a three-run shot in the third. Georgia starter Tony Locey pitched five shutout innings for his 11th win.

Florida State vs. Georgia, 6 p.m. Sunday: Game 5: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 loser, 11 a.m. Game 6: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 5 p.m.

Friday

AUBURN 16, COASTAL CAROLINA 7: Steven Williams led Auburn’s 18-hit attack, going 4 for 5 with five RBIs. Ryan Bliss added three hits and three RBIs for the Tigers, who had lost five of their previous eight games entering regionals.

GEORGIA TECH 13, FLORIDA A&M 2: Tristin English went 4 for 4 and drove in five runs to lead Tech, which never trailed. English has 68 RBIs this season. Amos Willingham worked the first six innings to earn his eighth win.

Auburn vs. Georgia Tech, 6 p.m. Sunday: Game 5: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 loser, 11 a.m. Game 6: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 5 p.m.

ILLINOIS STATE 8, INDIANA 7: After Indiana tied it 7-7 with a five-run seventh, Illinois State brought home the winning run on Joe Aelits’ double in the eighth. That double scored Derek Parola, who had five hits on the day.

LOUISVILLE 5, UI-CHICAGO 3: The Cardinals shut down UIC after trailing 3-0 in the second inning. Nick Bennett worked into the sixth inning for the win while Danny Oriente hit a two-run homer for Louisville, his first this season.

Illinois State vs. Louisville, 3 p.m. Sunday: Game 5: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 loser, 11 a.m. Game 6: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 5 p.m.

Friday

SOUTHERN MISS 15, ARIZONA STATE 3: Southern Miss scored 12 runs in the fifth inning to roll. The Golden Eagles had nine of their 17 hits in the fifth, capped by Matt Wallner’s three-run home run.

LSU 17, STONY BROOK 3: The Tigers scored all their runs in the first five innings. Brandt Broussard homered and had four RBIs, Zach Watson homered and had three RBIs while Antoine Duplantis scored three times and drove in three. On a three-hit night, Duplantis tied LSU’s career hits record with 352.

Southern Miss. vs. LSU, 6 p.m. Sunday: Game 5: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 loser, 2 p.m. Game 6: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 8 p.m.

Mississippi Regional

CLEMSON 8, ILLINOIS 4: Davis Sharpe allowed one unearned run and three hits over 6 2⁄3 innings of relief. Kyle Wilkie had four hits and three RBIs, including a two-run single in the seventh to help Clemson pull away. Papillion-La Vista grad Grant Van Scoy had two hits for Illinois.

MISSISSIPPI 16, JACKSONVILLE STATE 2: Ole Miss scored five times in the fifth and seventh innings to put the finishing touches on its first-round win. Eleven Rebels had hits and six drove in two apiece. Will Ethridge pitched three-hit ball over seven innings to earn the victory.

CENTRAL MICHIGAN 6, MIAMI 5: David Cole two-out single to center scored Zach Gilles from second base to give the Chippewas their 19th straight win and their first regional win since 1995. Miami tied it 5-5 in the seventh when Adrian Del Castillo hit his second homer of the game. Central Michigan trailed 4-1 in the fifth before Evan Kraft hit a three-run double.

MISSISSIPPI STATE 11, SOUTHERN 6: Trailing 4-2 midway through the fifth, the Bulldogs scored four in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. Rowdey Jordan and Josh Hatcher had back-to-back RBI doubles in the fifth and combined for six hits and five RBIs.

NORTH CAROLINA 7, UNC WILMINGTON 6: After Wilmington scored twice in the top of the ninth, Aaron Sabato hit his 15th homer of the season to lead off the bottom of the ninth to tie it. Wilmington then walked the bases loaded before Danny Serretti scored the winning run on a throwing error.

CAMPBELL-NC STATE, SUSPENDED: Campbell led 5-4 in the middle of the ninth when the game was postponed by storms. Campbell led the entire way after scoring four in the top of the first.

STANFORD 11, SACRAMENTO STATE 0: Brendan Beck and Cody Jensen combined on a four-hit shutout while their offense hit four solo home runs, including back-to-back shots by Will Matthiessen and Andrew Daschbach in the seventh. Stanford has hit 63 homers in its past 29 games.

DALLAS BAPTIST 11, FLORIDA 8: Florida scored six runs in the final three innings, but Dallas Baptist never trailed. The Patriots, who pounded out 17 hits, scored three runs in the eighth to fend off the Gators. Jackson Glenn and Andres Sosa each had three hits and two RBIs for the Patriots.

TEXAS TECH 11, ARMY 2: Micah Dallas allowed one unearned run in seven innings and Tech’s offense pounded out 16 hits. Cameron Warren and Tanner O’Tremba each drove in three runs for the Red Raiders.

INDIANA STATE 6, MCNEESE STATE 5: Reliever Tyler Grauer shut out McNeese over the last four innings to lead. The Sycamores took the lead for good in the fifth on Dane Tofteland’s two-run home run.

VANDERBILT 8, OHIO STATE 2: Drake Fellows threw a seven-hitter with nine strikeouts to improve to 12-0. While Fellows shut out OSU over the last seven innings, seven Commodores drove in runs.

Indiana State vs. Vanderbilt, 6 p.m. Sunday: Game 5: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 loser, 2 p.m. Game 6: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 8 p.m.

DUKE 8, TEXAS A&M 5: Rudy Maxwell hit a pinch-hit, three-run home run in the eighth inning to put the Blue Devils up 8-1. Duke starter Ben Gross allowed one hit and four hits over seven innings.

WEST VIRGINIA 6, FORDHAM 2: Nick Snyder and Kade Strowd combined on a four-hitter. Snyder went the first five innings to improve to 9-1 this season while Strowd didn’t allow a hit in his four innings.
