AUBURN – Raven DeFrain went 4-4 at the plate (including RBI singles in the first and third innings, and an RBI double in the fifth), and the Class B No. 7 Fairbury softball team defeated Class C No. 3 Auburn, 8-3, Monday night in Auburn.
Jaelle Johnson added RBI singles in the third and fifth innings. The Jeffs finished with 14 total hits.
Delaney Miller led Fairbury to victory in the circle. She threw a complete game, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out two.
Kylie Allen went the full game in the circle for Auburn. She allowed 14 hits and eight runs while striking out four.
Allen also led the Bulldogs at the plate, finished 2-4.
Fairbury improves to 15-4 and hosts Falls City on Tuesday, while Auburn drops to 13-3 and travels to Omaha Mercy.
Six-run second inning propels No. 2 Bishop Nuemann past Syracuse
WAHOO – Celia Kuhfahl, Katie Lilly, Maggie Vasa and Taylor Stuhr each had RBI’s in Bishop Neumann’s six-run second inning, and the Class C No. 2 Cavaliers defeated Syracuse Monday night in Wahoo, 11-3.
Vasa and Hadley Chyatal each hit home runs in the second inning.
Katlyn Kavan finished 2-2 to lead Bishop Neumann.
Chyatal was also credited with the victory. She threw six innings, allowed three runs on four hits and struck out three.
The Rockets three runs came in the sixth inning when Madison Mueller, Sam Pester and Grace Damme all drove in runs. Mueller finished 2-3.
Alayna Nannen took the loss in the circle, going five innings, allowing 11 runs on nine hits and striking out one.
The Cavaliers also beat Yutan/Mead, 7-3, Monday to improve to 17-3. They’ll host Douglas County West/Concordia on Thursday.
Syracuse drops to 4-11 and will travel to Auburn on Thursday to play the Bulldogs.
Cass County Central stymied by Ashland-Greenwood
RBI’s from Jaden Tweton, Avery Goff, Fiona Walker, Katrina Terry and Devin Rodgerson helped Ashland-Greenwood score seven runs in the fourth inning and the Bluejays defeated Cass County Central Monday night, 11-3.
Hannah Keith took the win in the circle. She surrendered three runs on three hits over five innings, striking out one.
Chrystal Meyer took the loss for the Crush. She lasted four innings, allowed ten hits and 11 runs while striking out four and walking one.
Reba Wilson led Cass County Central (9-10) with two hits in three at bats. The Crush play in the East Central Nebraska Conference Tournament on Saturday.
Ashland-Greenwood (4-12) collected ten hits. Camryn Ray and Walker each racked up multiple hits. They will travel to Raymond Central on Tuesday.

Maryville 19, Falls City 0: Maryville scored 12 runs, finished with 18 RBI’s and 13 hits in a route of Falls City on Monday. The game lasted three innings. The Tigers drop to 1-17 and will be at Class B #7 Fairbury on Tuesday.
