Prep baseball roundup: Falls City’s Bredemeier shuts out Hiawatha, Norris lights up scoreboard at Plattsmouth

FALLS CITY – Sophomore Kade Bredemeier gave up five hits and struck out three in a complete game shutout over Hiawatha, Kan. Tuesday at Southeast Communications Field in Falls City.

The Tigers improved to 8-9 this season with an 11-0 victory in six innings.

Falls City secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught included a home run from senior Ransom Campbell and a double from sophomore James Eickhoff.

Their four other runs came in the first inning, including an RBI single from junior Chaydyn Butler.

Falls City, who hosts Nebraska City on Thursday, finished with eight hits. Bredemeier finished 3-3 with a double and two runs scored.

Thursday’s game vs. Nebraska City starts at 4:30 p.m. and will be carried on B103 (103.1 FM, b103.fm).

Norris lights up the scoreboard with 14 runs on 17 hits

PLATTSMOUTH – Senior Austin Schultz went 3-4 at the plate, including a home run and a triple, and the Class B #4 Norris baseball team beat Plattsmouth, 14-3, in five innings Tuesday at Plattsmouth High School. Schultz drove in one run and scored three times.

The Titans finished with 17 total hits. Junior Cade Argo also had a home run and went 2-3 with four RBI’s and a run scored. Sophomore Joel Benes was 3-3 with two doubles and two runs scored.

Junior Gavin Dowding was the winning pitcher. He surrendered three runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out four.

Hunter Adkins took the loss. He allowed ten hits and eight runs over two innings.

The Blue Devils finished with eight hits. Connor Pohlmeier and Adkins each collected two hits. Pohlmeier scored once and Adkins had an RBI and a run scored.

Norris is now 12-5 and will host Bennington (8-8) on Thursday.

Plattsmouth drops to 3-12 and will be off until Monday when they host Bennington.
