Norris, Wilber-Clatonia Lone Teams Left in Area in Softball Districts

BEATRICE – The #5 seeded Norris Lady Titans and the #4 seeded Wilber-Clatonia Lady Wolverines have both made it to the second day of their respective softball districts.

In District B-4 at Hannibal Park in Beatrice, Norris was defeated in their opening against #4 Waverly, 6-4, but came back to beat #3 Crete, 9-6, and will have a rematch with Waverly on Saturday at 11 a.m. The game will be on Field 3. Both Crete and #7 Beatrice were defeated in their first two games.

In District C-3 play in Blue Springs, Wilber-Clatonia has made it to the final three teams, but has a tough task on Saturday with #1 Raymond Central. To start off the tournament, the Lady Wolverines defeated #5 Milford, 5-0. They then were defeated by Raymond Central before beating #7 Southern and Milford again to advance. They will play Raymond Central at 11 a.m. on Field South. The winner will play #2 Malcolm for the championship.

Also, in District C-3 play, Milford bounced back to beat #6 Fairbury in the consolation bracket before being eliminated by Wilber-Clatonia. Fairbury defeated #3 Aquinas Catholic in the first round before getting beaten by Malcolm and Milford. Finally, Southern was defeated in each of their first two games by Malcolm and Wilber-Clatonia.
