JOHNSON – Six rushers helped the Johnson-Brock football team gain 339 yards on the ground and the Class D2 No. 3 Eagles cruised by Diller-Odell Friday, 72-14.
J-B was led by the 97 yards from senior Connor Smith. He also rushed for two touchdowns on five carries. Kaden Glynn, Ty Hahn, Cole Fossenbarger and Hunter Oestmann each ran for scores.
“We were able to run the ball effectively and control the line of scrimmage,” Head Coach Mitch Roberts said. “Our blocking was much improved from previous weeks.”
Fossenbarger finished 7-14 through the air for 111 yards and two touchdowns.
The Eagles defense finished with three tackles for loss and forced three fumbles.
“We forced a few more turnovers and were able to set up great field position,” according to Roberts. “I am really proud of our effort and energy throughout the course of the game.”
Johnson-Brock improves to 5-0 and will be at Pawnee City (0-5) on Friday.
Diller-Odell drops to 3-2 and hosts No. 2 Falls City Sacred Heart (5-0) this week.
