ADAMS – The Lourdes Lady Knights and Johnson-Brock Lady Eagles were both able to grab victories on Tuesday, and therefore the two teams will face each other for the subdistrict championship.
Lourdes was able to defeat Tri-County 48-27 at Freeman High School in the D1-1 subdistrict semi-finals on Thursday, Johnson-Brock then dominated Pawnee City 69-27 in the following game to set up a Thursday showdown.
In the early game, LCC got on Tri-County from the start and never relented, cruising to an easy victory.
Laura Box had 20 points for the Lady Knights, with Libby Fulton and Ivye Meyer scoring nine each.
Johnson-Brock and Pawnee City both played each other incredibly even in their first three games they played all season, but that was not the case on Tuesday.
The Eagles a huge performance from junior Kaitlyn Simon who scored 23 points, and sophomore Fallon Stutheit who recorded a double-double, including 19 points to propel Johnson-Brock to an easy victory.
Mariah Willey had 16 points in the loss for PCHS.
Lourdes and Johnson-Brock will face each other at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in the subdistrict final. The game will be covered on News Channel Nebraska radio starting at 6:15.
