MILLIGAN – The Friend football team wasted no time building a big lead on their way to a 48-0 victory over Exeter-Milligan on Friday.
The Bulldogs needed just two plays to get their first touchdown of the night on a 25 yard run by Edwen Baptista. After recovering a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, Baptista had another 25 yard dash to the end zone to make it 16-0 less than three minutes into the game.
Baptista scored twice more in the first half with a 40 yard touchdown run by Kyle Dickinson sandwiched in between. A 10 yard score by Kolby Houlden pushed the margin to 48 points and the starters exited late in the second quarter. The Friend reserves played Exeter-Milligan to a stalemate the rest of the game.
Baptista led the way for the Bulldogs, rushing for 138 yards and four touchdowns. Houlden added 40 yards and a score. Friend’s defense limited Exeter-Milligan to just 80 yards of total offense.
Friend improves its record to 3-1 on the season and will be back at home next week hosting Mead. Exeter-Milligan falls to 0-5 and will travel to Weeping Water.
