CRETE — Crete took advantage of a handball in the box in the first half to seize momentum and beat Norris 2-0 on Thursday night.
Anthony Bolanos rifled a free kick off the hands of the Norris keeper and a teammate tried to clean up the miss. Norris (8-4) defender Dominic Pelini stopped the follow-up shot with his hand, preventing a goal but resulting in a wild card. Then, Bolanos converted the penalty kick to put Crete (9-1) in front.
Eight minutes later, at the 33rd minute, Hamilson Vicente split two defenders and scored to make it 2-0.
