Fillmore Central Girls Win Tri County Invite

DEWITT – With 108 points, the Fillmore Central Lady Panthers earned first place at the Dan Tesar Invite at Tri County High School.

The Lady Panthers held off Lincoln Lutheran (77), Wilber-Clatonia (72) and Fairbury (66) to get the victory.

Grace Jacobsen led Fillmore Central with victories in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. Alexis Schmidt would win in the shot put and Jamey Broman would win the long jump, as well, for the Lady Panthers.

Logan Hayek had a big day for the Lady Wolverines. She would win the 400 meter dash and 300 meter hurdles for Wilber-Clatonia. They also received wins from McKenna Rezny in the discus and Aleen Souvannavong in the triple jump.

Jessa Eden would place second in the discus for Fairbury.

Maddie Moran would win the 100 and 200 meter dashes for JCC.

In the boys contest, Sutton controlled the meet, winning with 121 points. Finishing second was the Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines with 85 points and Fairbury placed third with 63.

The Wolverines got first place finishes from Riley Homolka in the shot put and Tanner Sand in the long jump.

The Jeffs saw Adam Wasserman win the pole vault and Cayman DeBoer top the competition in the high jump.

Tri County’s Creighton Niemeyer would win both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs.
