Crete Tops Falls City in 8 Innings

FALLS CITY – A five-run eight inning allowed the Crete Cardinals to grab their second victory of the season.

Crete took down the Tigers 10-6 in extra innings on Saturday, in a game that did not lack excitement.

Falls City led for most of the game, up 1-0, 2-1, 3-1, before going down 4-3 in the fifth. Falls City took back the lead the following inning, ahead 5-4 into the 7th.

In the 7th, Crete’s Nick Barber was able to score a run off a sacrifice fly from Trevor Nickel to send it to extra innings.

They then proceeded to score five runs in the 8th inning, as FCHS pitching depth began to wean.
