RALSTON, NE – The Beatrice-Norris-Freeman-Fairbury swim team competed Saturday in the River Cities Conference in Ralston.
It was a successful day, as the girls’ team finished runner-up and the boys placed 3rd.
Mikwena Lierman was crowned champion in the girls’ 50-free with a time of 25.34 seconds to earn all-conference honors.
The girls’ 400-relay A team placed first with a time of 3:51.18. The Lierman sisters, Mikwena and Mikasa, along with Lauren Havlat and Maya Moran, all earned all-conference honors for their performance in the 400-relay.
Moran also had a big day in the 100-backstroke, setting a new school record with a time of 1:02.53.
The boys’ 400-relay A team meanwhile placed 3rd with a time of 3:34.05.
In the 100-freestyle, Mikasa Lierman placed 2nd with a time of 56.25.
In the 100-backstroke, Josi Mans placed 4th with a time of 1:06.62. The girls’ 200-freestyle meanwhile finished 3rd at 1:47.77.
In the girls’ 200 medley, BNFF set a new school record with a time of 1:54.45.
In the 50-free, Briaunna Knothe shaved off .04 seconds from her own PR with a time of 31.44.
In the boys’ 100-fly, Colton Starck finished 3rd with a time of 55.82.
Colton also placed 2nd in the 50-free, clocking in at 22.87. In the girls’ 100-fly, Mikwena Lierman finished 2nd at 1:07.60.
Also worth noting, Josi Mans placed 9th in the 500-free with a time of 6:10.52. She was able to knock 15.7 seconds off from her previous PR.
The BNFF girls’ record stands at 8-1-1. The boys meanwhile are 2-8.
The state swim meets takes place in Lincoln on Feb. 22-23.
