FAIRBURY – The Beatrice boy’s golf team fired a team-total 334 to win the Fairbury Invite yesterday by ten strokes over 2nd place Milford and by 17-shots over 3rd place Seward.
Norris finished 4th in front of Thayer Central, while the host Jeffs placed 6th in front of Crete.
Beatrice senior Graham Southwick claimed the individual championship with an 18-hole score of 76, which was five shots in front of Max Madsen of Thayer Central and Nate Mensik of Milford.
Trenton Jurgens of Beatrice and Bragan Meyer of Milford tied for 4th place with scores of 83, while Tyler Welch of Seward shot an 84 for a 6th place finish.
Grant Oden and Tristan Bade of Norris, Logan Roth of Milford and Andrew Paquette shared 7th place with scores of 85, while Thayer Central’s Jackson Feulner finished 11th with an 87.
Seward golfers Jaden Volzke and Garrett Erickson medalled in 12th place with scores of 89, while Ty Wehrs of Seward and Bryant Jurgens of Beatrice tied for 14th by carding scores of 90.
Aden Watson fired a 98 to lead Fairbury, while teammate Dalton Peterson scored a 104.
Caleb Vertin carded a 102 to lead the Crete Cardinals.
