BEATRICE – The Beatrice Neapco American Legion Juniors improved to 6-1 with a doubleheader sweep of Class-A Lincoln Southeast on Sunday at Christensen Field.
Beatrice rallied from an early eight-run deficit, scoring seven-times in the third inning, before taking the lead with a three-run fourth-inning to win the first game, 11-9.
Devin Smith had a pair of hits with two RBI and two runs scored, and Will Reimer drove in a pair of runs with two hits. Brody Nelson finished with a team high three-RBI, Quin Zabokrtsky reached base four times with an RBI and run scored.
Elijah Magnall had a pair of hits and scored twice, while picking up the win in relief of Devin Smith.
Beatrice extended their current winning streak to four-games with an 8-2 victory in the second game. Beatrice jumped out to a 5-1 lead and put the game out of reach by scoring three-runs in the fourth-inning.
Will Reimer had a game-high three-hits, including a double and run scored, while Zane Hoffman finished with two-hits and scored twice, and Matthew Jobman had a pair of hits and an RBI. Boden Ruskamp reached base in all four plate appearances.
Quin Zabokrtsky pitched five innings, allowing two runs on five hits, while striking out five to earn the win.
The Beatrice Exmark American Legion Seniors picked up their first victory of the season on Friday at Marysville, Kansas, 6-3.
The Fairbury American Legion Juniors are 6-0 to start the season, and put their undefeated record on the line this week with a trio of home games.
