Beatrice Girls Golf Team Qualifies For State

YORK –  The Beatrice girl’s golf team has qualified for the Class-B State Tournament next week in Columbus after placing third at the District B-4 tournament Monday in York.  The Lady Orange shot a team total 404, which 19-shots behind 2nd place York and 23-strokes behind district champion Aurora.  Beatrice was 23-shots better than 4th place Adams Central in the eight team field.

Lady Orange senior, Kirsten Baete, claimed her third straight district title by firing an 18-hole score of 72, which was an overwhelming eight shots in front of 2nd place Kendra Placke of Seward.

For the third straight tournament, Beatrice senior Sidney Hartig placed in the top ten after scoring a 99 to finish 10th.

Freshmen Payton Neunaber, Sydney Southwick and Mackenzie Barnard are also members of the Lady Orange golf team heading to the state tournament.

The Class-B State Tournament takes place at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus next Monday and Tuesday.
