WYMORE – The Beatrice and Wymore American Legion baseball teams split a Juniors-Seniors double-header in Wymore on Sunday night.
Wymore erupted for four runs in the second inning of a 4-2 victory over the Beatrice Exmark Seniors.
Beatrice lost despite out-hitting Wymore 6-3.
Reese Hennerberg earned the win, pitching a complete game, allowing two runs on six hits, while striking out six Beatrice batters. Damian Salazar suffered the loss, giving up four runs on three hits in two innings of work.
Tyson Landenberger and William Mc Laughlin both had a hit and RBI to lead the Wymore offense.
Griffen Vater had a hit, RBI and run scored and Caleb Wallman had a pair of hits to lead Beatrice.
The Wymore Seniors improved to 6-5, while the Beatrice Exmark Seniors fell to 2-6.
Quin Zabokrtsky pitched a two-hit shutout, striking out seven as the Beatrice Neapco Juniors defeated Wymore, 7-0.
Beatrice secured the win with a four-run sixth inning.
Brody Nelson led the Beatrice offense with four hits, including a double and two RBI, and Will Reimer had a pair of hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Matthew Jobman added a two-RBI double and a run scored for the Beatrice Neapco Juniors, who improved to 8-2 on the season. The Wymore Juniors fell to 3-8.
