Beatrice American Legion Baseball Splits Double-Header With Lincoln Northeast

BEATRICE – The Beatrice American Legion baseball teams split a Juniors-Seniors double-header against Class-A Lincoln Northeast on Tuesday at Christiansen Field.

Three pitchers combined for a one-hit shutout for the Beatrice Neapco Juniors in a 7-0 victory.

Brody Nelson pitch the first two innings, and Hunter Thavenet earned the win with four innings of relief. Zane Hoffman pitched the final inning, as the pitching staff combined for ten-strikeouts.

Matthew Jobman and Zack Zimmerman both had two-hits, an RBI and run scored, while Thavenet and Boden Ruskamp had a hit and RBI. Quin Zabokrtsky scored twice for the Beatrice Neapco Junior, who broke the game open with a three-run fourth inning to improve to 7-1 on the season.

Lincoln Northeast defeated the Beatrice Exmark Seniors in a high scoring game, 9-6.

Kole Jurgens finished with two hits, a double, and two runs scored, while Nolan White had a pair of hits and an RBI.  Keenan Ruh had two RBI for Beatrice, who fell to 1-4 on the season.
