AUBURN – Brody Darnell and Hayden Hall combined for a six-inning shutout and the Auburn Junior Legion Baseball team eliminated Syracuse from the Area B1 Tournament Monday evening, 13-0. Darnell and Hall held Post 100 to just three hits.
Darnell earned the victory with four strikeouts at Tushla Field in Auburn.
Auburn clinched the win with six runs in the sixth inning on RBI’s from Hall, Weston Reiman, Josh Lambert and Jalen Maher.
Auburn scattered 14 total hits. Hall finished 3-4 with two RBI’s and two runs scored.
Auburn, the top seed in the tournament, improves to 20-4 and will play Hickman for the Area Tournament Championship Tuesday. Auburn must defeat Hickman twice to claim the title and advance to this weekend’s state tournament in Columbus.
