Auburn Edges Malcolm for Girls Conference Cross Country Title

TECUMSEH, Neb. – Placing a runner in first (Allie Binder – 20:39), sixth (Amanda Brown – 21:42) and eighth (Katie Koso – 22:23) helped the Auburn girls cross country team earn the East Central Nebraska Conference team title Tuesday at the Johnson Country Club in Tecumseh.

The Bulldogs were one point better than Malcolm, 31-32, who also placed three runners in the top ten.

Johnson County Central finished third with senior Aleisha McDonald placing second with a time of 20:39 and freshman Ashlei McDonald taking third in a time of 20:48.

The Auburn boys cross country team finished as conference runner-up behind Malcolm, 12-55. The Bulldogs were led by junior Seth Zimmerman (ninth – 18:37). Malcolm placed five runners in the top six spots.

Weeping Water senior Noah May placed eighth with a time of 18:23.
