#7 Friend Falls Short Against #2 BDS

LINCOLN – Friend was looking for an upset on Thursday, as they went toe to toe with the #2 BDS Eagles.

Carley Elznic finished with 9 on the afternoon. Friend had a solid offense through in the opening quarter of play.

Friend the Eagles 17 to 14 after the 1st. Going into the 2nd Quarter BDS had some catchup to do.

The Eagles came back to close the gap before halftime 22-24, trying to fend off the upset minded Friend Bulldogs.

Friend would start the 4th Quarter behind one point, 33-34 but BDS would put down 22 points in the final 8 minutes. The Eagles went on to win 56 to 47, holding off the Bulldog upset, and will play Friday at 10:45 a.m.

Friend Head Coach Scott Kraus says, “We had a lot of ups this year. Being able to beat Sacred Heart in our Conference Championship game was a pretty big up for us. Having two weeks off it doesn’t help. We showed a little bit of rust today. That’s no disrespect to BDS. They’re a good team. We just played a little but uncharacteristically today, and that didn’t help us either.”
