#6 Morningside Puts #3 Doane Away Early in GPAC Battle

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The #6 ranked Morningside Mustangs looked like they’re going to compete again for a deep NAIA playoff run as they had no issues with previously unbeaten and #3 ranked Doane in a 69-7 victory.

The Mustangs put up over 600 yards of offense, including 500 passing. Trent Solsma finished with 284 yards passing and five touchdowns. Addison Ross also added 212 yards and two touchdowns through the air for Morningside.

The game was over early as the Mustangs scored 27 first quarter points and 62 total in the first half.

Nate Meier rushed for 84 yards and Hunter Bradley corralled in four catches for 140 yards receiving. Trev Lovell started in place for an injured Jack Shadley at quarterback. He threw for 155 yards and a touchdown for the Tigers.

Doane drops to 5-1 overall and will host Hastings next Saturday for their Homecoming game. It will be live on NCN 21 and Ol Red 99.5.
