Winter Weather Advisory for Southeast Nebraska

VALLEY – The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley issued a winter weather advisory until 6 p.m. Sunday for all of southeast Nebraska, southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri.

One to five inches of snow and winds gusting from 25 to 35 MPH is expected for the entire region. The heaviest snow is in the forecast for eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa tonight.

According to meteorologists with the NWS, periods of rain will mix with or change to snow by this evening. Light to moderate snow with embedded heavy snow showers is expected through Sunday morning, with additional light snow into Sunday evening.

Officials advise to plan for slippery road conditions.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
