Windstream Announces Upgrade For Beatrice

BEATRICE –  Communications provider Windstream has announced it is upgrading its network to deliver Gigabit internet service in Beatrice.

The $4 million upgrade includes building fiber optic connections to about 6,800 households in Beatrice.  The Little Rock, Arkansas-based Windstream is finalizing the engineering design work and expects construction will be starting soon.

Windstream’s Kinetic Gig service is currently available in Lincoln and Hastings, and network upgrades are planned to begin soon in York.
