Wind chill values could reach 30 below zero Tuesday morning

The National Weather service office in Valley is keeping southeast Nebraska, southwest Iowa and northeast Kansas in a wind chill advisory until noon Tuesday. The advisory goes into effect at 5 p.m. this evening (Monday).

Northwest Missouri has been placed in a wind chill warning until noon Tuesday.

Very cold wind chills are expected, according to the weather service. The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Expect wind chills to range from 15 below zero to 30 below zero.

Frost bite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
